Summary of research activities at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (1992 - 2007)

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is a multi-national organization whose primary purpose is to foster research in molecular biology. It has several outstations in European countries. In 1992 a mass spectrometry group under the heading of Matthias Mann was established to develop the use of mass spectrometry in biological research.
