The command File > New... creates a new document. The hierarchical document structure consists of Sections - Chapters - Pages - Paragraphs - Sub-paragraphs - Sub-sub-paragraphs - ... .
Manoeuvring:
- Clicking onto an arrow
reveals the contents on the next deeper level. Option-Click onto an arrow
reveals the entire hierarchical structure.
- Clicking onto a page number shows the page.
- Clicking onto the arrows
shows the previous or the next page from the history of shown pages.
- Clicking onto the arrow buttons
shows the previous or the next page in the page order of the document.
- Section, Chapter, Page and Paragraph titles can be edited.
- Clicking onto the TOC, Section or Chapter text in the header of a page shows the Table of Contents, Section or Chapter page.
- The commands View > Next Page, View > Previous Page go to the next and previous pages in the numerical order of the pages.
- The commands View > Go Back, View > Go Forward go to the last visited page or move forward in the history of seen pages.
Structure Editing:
- The commands Document > New Section, > New Chapter, > New Page create a new section, chapter or page.
- Click-drag onto an arrow
moves the section, the chapter, the page or the paragraph to a new position in the document.
- Command-click onto an arrow
adds the chapter, page or paragraph to the current selection.
- The commands Document > Delete Section, > Delete Chapters, > Delete Pages, > Delete Paragraphs deletes the selected or the current section, chapters, pages or paragraphs. The deletion is undoable.
- The commands Paragraph > New Paragraph, > New Sub-Paragraph create new paragraphs resp. new sub-paragraphs.
- The commands Paragraph > Move Up, > Move Down change the level of the currently active paragraph.
- The level of a paragraph can be changed by dragging the paragraph into another position - via click-drag onto an arrow
of the paragraph.
Viewing:
- The commands View > Zoom > Zoom In, < Zoom Out, < Actual Size change the display size of the document's content.
- The command Paragraph > Focus focusses the content on the currently active paragraph.
- The command Paragraph > Defocus shows the entire page instead of only the focused paragraph.
Miscellaneous:
- The command Edit > Find in Document... searches textual content in the entire document
- The command File > Print Page... prints the current page
- The command File > Print Document... prints the entire document
- The commands File > Export > As PDF..., > As Rich Text... export the document in pdf-form or as rich text.
